A leading specialist healthcare institution in Johannesburg is seeking to appoint a Medical Specialist Paediatric ENT (Otorhinolaryngology) to join its multidisciplinary team.
This permanent opportunity is ideal for a dedicated ENT specialist who is passionate about providing specialised care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents within a paediatric healthcare environment. The successful candidate will also contribute to academic activities, research, and the ongoing development of high-quality clinical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of paediatric ear, nose, throat, head, and neck conditions.
- Perform elective and emergency paediatric ENT surgical procedures.
- Provide specialist outpatient consultations and inpatient care, including ward rounds and peri-operative management.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in departmental on-call and emergency service rosters.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and contribute to teaching and training activities.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and research.
- Ensure compliance with HPCSA regulations, ethical standards, and clinical governance requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
- MBChB or equivalent qualification.
- Registered with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Otorhinolaryngology (ENT).
- Proof of current HPCSA registration.
- Completed recognised specialist training in Otorhinolaryngology (ENT).
- Experience in paediatric ENT or an interest in sub-specialising in paediatric ENT will be advantageous.
- Excellent clinical, surgical, communication, and teamwork skills.
